The Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 “Duetto” (105 series), introduced in 1966, is one of the most iconic Italian roadsters. Designed by Pininfarina, its boat-tail styling and graceful lines made it an instant classic. Famously featured in The Graduate (1967), the Duetto became a cultural symbol of 1960s youth and freedom. In 1967, Alfa Romeo introduced the 1750 Spider Veloce, replacing the 1.6L engine with a 1.8L (1,779 cc) unit producing 118 hp, along with upgrades like a front anti-roll bar and hydraulic clutch. Though the “Duetto” name was never official (due to trademark issues), it remains the beloved nickname for the early Spiders.
